Do you dream about an education which will lead to a meaningful job filled with good and life-affirming experiences – then Nursing is your thing!
You will meet sick people and their relatives, people in crisis and you may experience new life. Every day has its own challenges, which will demand your professionalism and commitment.
North Denmark Region participates in educating nurses and we also employ them at our hospitals, psychiatric facilities and institutions.
The main assignment of a nurse is found in close contact with patients - those who are acutely ill, those who are in need of surgery and the ones who need nurture and care after surgery.
As a nurse at a hospital you often find yourself responsible for one group of patients at a time. In close cooperation with for instance doctors or assistant caregivers, nurses plan the care for the patients. An essential part of the job is also to gather the appropriate information in order to ensure that the patient will receive the correct treatment and care.
To become a nurse you need to study for 3½ years. The education programme is partially made up by theoretical education and partially by clinical training. The internship can be carried out at one of the hospitals of North Denmark Region as well as in our psychiatric facilities. The internship makes up for almost half of the entire education.
You can study to become a nurse at University College Nordjylland or VIA University College. For more information, please visit their homepage:
